Pink Ribbon Bagel Story

Coming in October – 2013

What is the Pink Ribbon Bagel? The Pink Ribbon Bagel was originally created in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2001, by one of our first Panera franchisees, Sue Stees, who is today, a 25-year breast cancer survivor. Her inspiration has spread through our organization and now Pink Ribbon Bagels are sold across the country in all participating Panera bakery-cafes to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer cause the month of October.

  • The bagels are loaded with cherry chips, dried cherries, cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar. We bake these special bagels fresh every day in our bakery-cafes.
  • The bagel is named after the pink ribbon, the symbol that has become widely identified with support of breast cancer research.
  • In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all 29 Central Ohio area bakery-cafes will offer Pink Ribbon Bagels throughout October.
  • For every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold, we will donate a portion to Breast Cancer Awareness to support local breast cancer awareness and prevention efforts, as well as 100% of the proceeds from our Go Pink Day in the cafes.
